Hot Import Nights – San Jose 2016

There was no need to travel far this time. No need to pack up and make a long trip to some place hours away. I can finally go to Hot Import Nights fully charged and ready to go!…. Or so I thought… Still tired from the Pre-Game party at Aura with the models, I get to The Santa Clara Fairgrounds late… The sun basically gone, and the cars starting to light up. The sound of the subs hitting, people chattering, photographers shooting, crowd cheering, and the sight of the models. All these mixed feelings together with my exhaustion brings everything into place. This was Hot Import Nights…

Now I’ve been to these events since high school, when Hot Import Nights was in San Meteo, and show casing VIP Cars with models like Nikki Cash, Tila Nguyen (Tila Taquila Yep) and Natasha Yi. Every year was different with Hot Import Nights. This year was another great year by the production team. The placement of vehicles together with the stage  worked in a way where everything can be kept together. Unlike some other car shows that line up cars a million miles away from the stage…. But this was very well kept.

Yea I got there late… But it was still a million degrees inside the Pavillon Hall.  I happen to enter from the side of the Pavillon where I was met with the RC drifting circuit. Well knowing myself I kinda stayed their a bit checking out the techs working on their gear. I love that the RC circuits are showing up more often in car shows. Not only because I geek out at some cool RC models, but it’s because it is something that is part of the car culture in general. You see over the years the culture that HIN represents has constantly evolved. With a ever evolving industry, the culture went from cars and models, to vapers, drifters, sneaker heads, RC builders, and male twerking contest… Yea they had that… But they still had girls haha. You see HIN has a responsibility to keep up with a changing culture, and to keep their fans wanting more.

HIN has always delivered to their fan base. Bringing out past and other Miss HIN Models to each event. The dedication to their brand is very strong. Despite being against one of the biggest events in the West Coast (EDC) the show was a massive success. It felt like EDC never happened. The crowds around model lounge never died (except when the did the Miss HIN San Jose announcement) and the lines to see Vicki Li and Danielle Lo never died down.

At the end of the night I was ready to go. I waited to see who was crowned Miss Hot Import Nights SJ. I really didn’t know who was gonna get it this year, but it looks like the homie Amy Cruz nailed it. The night is done. Time for my next gig. Until next time!

I want to thank HIN again for having me at all their California events and giving me the opportunity to work with a company that has a impact on the car culture for many years. The production was great, and we can’t wait to see what you can bring to the table next event!
